Around-the-world cruises

Crystal Cruises, Cunard, Holland America, Regent Seven Seas and others typically offer globe-circling cruises. Most are on top-quality ships with prices typically in the $40,000+ range per person. For those who like the idea of smaller vessels with fewer passengers, Cruise West is offering an around-the-world cruise.

Choosing a voyage

Potential passengers should check for an itinerary that suits their interests and should look for a ship that offers the desired level of ambiance and formality.

Before leaving home

Passengers normally need passports that will not expire until at least six months after the cruise.  Many countries require advance visas, inoculations for yellow fever or other diseases may be needed, and anti-malarial pills may be suggested.  The Centers for Disease Control can provide health information. Consular information sheets may be obtained from the State Department.
